Description
Moor Cottage is a late 18th century or early 19th century longhouse-type farmhouse that was altered in the mid 19th century and early 20th century into a villa. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a pitched stone slate roof with stone stacks. The building has two storeys and includes a two-storey early 20th century porch situated between the main house and the barn, which has a gable end with applied timber-framing.
On the first floor, there are three stone mullioned sash windows, and one on the ground floor. The cottage also features two mid 19th century wooden canted bay windows with sashes. The mid 19th century wooden porch has a moulded gable and three round-headed arches with moulded voussoirs and imposts. The door is made up of two moulded panels and two round-headed glazed panels with marginal glazing bars.
The barn is characterized by an elliptically-headed arch with planked double doors and one sash window in the loft. There is a one-storey extension to the east, which includes two pairs of paired sashes with glazing bars and a door with three moulded panels.
