Description

Two dwellings, Nos. 112 and 124 Hall Ing, were built as part of a larger group in 1663 and subsequently altered. The construction uses coursed rubble with quoins, and the roof is covered with stone slates, incorporating copings to the west and moulded kneelers. A central chimney stack is made of ashlar.

The original east gable features a door with a deep lintel and a datestone inscribed “1663 RA,” referring to Roger Armitage. A 19th-century two-light window is on the right side. An altered 19th-century six-light window is on the first floor.

The south-facing elevation is partially obscured by later buildings. Three bays are visible, with a later central doorway. To the left is a former eight-light mullioned and transomed window that has been altered to retain only the central mullion and sash windows. A cross window is on the right. At first-floor level, a small central window is set within a Tudor false arch. A four-light double chamfered window is to the left, and a later two-light window is to the right.
