Description
This is an early or mid-19th century laithe house and a larger adjoining house, situated at 90 degrees to each other, constructed from hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The roof features gable copings, cut kneelers, and gable stacks. The larger house has three storeys and a central doorway, above which is a blind window displaying the painted words "THE CROWN." The ground and first floors are punctuated by a three-light window to the left and a two-light window to the right. The second floor has a six-light window to the left, with wider outer lights, and a four-light window to the right. The rear of the larger house, at a 90-degree angle, features a laithe house. The laithe house has a doorway, partially blocked, and altered ground floor windows. A first-floor window is a 13-light design, with two blocked and partially obscured lights situated on the left side at the junction with the later house. The laithe itself features a large, segmental arched doorway, now glazed, and a mistal door to its right. The rear of the building incorporates a centrally blocked cart entry with a lintel, and a centrally located house door, also blocked.
