Description

A mid-19th century public house. Built of hammer-dressed stone with quoins, it has a pitched stone slate roof with coped gables resting on carved footstones, and two chimney stacks, one of ashlar. The symmetrical south-east elevation features a central doorway on the ground floor, adorned with squared pilasters and a semicircular fanlight with glazing bars, topped by an open pediment. Single-light sash windows with stone surrounds flank the doorway. A lean-to extension to the south-west gable contains a doorway with stone surrounds and tie-stones, alongside a single-light window on its south-east side. The first floor has five similar single-light sash windows with stone surrounds. The symmetrical north-west elevation mirrors the ground-floor layout with a central lean-to extension and two single-light sash windows, with one small single-light window. A central staircase window with a semicircular head and tie-stones is positioned on the first floor, alongside three further single-light sash windows.
