Description

No. 5 Southgate is an early to mid-19th century building constructed from ashlar stone, featuring a pitched stone slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has a modillioned eaves cornice. The first floor has a continuous sill and displays two ranges of sash windows with glazing bars, along with one false window. The entrance door is topped with a fanlight. In front of the building, there is an area enclosed by plain cast iron railings. Additionally, there is a three-centred archway leading to Tomlinson's Yard, which is adorned with moulded voussoirs and stone setts below.
