Description
This is a pair of urns from the early to mid-19th century, made of ashlar stone. Each urn stands on a square pedestal with a stepped cap and features a waisted base, a ribbed body, and an everted rim adorned with leaf and dart moulding. They contain plants and are approximately 1 metre tall. The urns were relocated to their current position flanking the path on the west side of the lawn, approximately 40 metres north of The Old Rectory, from Holyrood House in Hedon by Colonel R A Alec-Smith in 1957. They are included for their group value with a nearby larger urn located in the centre of the lawn to the east.
