Description
This building is a row of four townhouses located on Oxford Road in Chorlton-On-Medlock, Manchester, dating from the early to mid 19th century and altered over time. The structures are made of stucco on brick with a slate roof and feature a double-depth plan. No. 323, now a bank, is double-fronted with a symmetrical five-window range, channelled rustication on the ground floor, an altered central doorway, and sashed windows without glazing bars. The first-floor windows have cornices on consoles. Nos. 325 and 327 are a reflected pair, each with one and a half bays. Their entrances, located on the left and right respectively, have channelled rustication, and the full bays between them project forward, featuring three-light windows on all floors. No. 325 includes a wooden porch with square pillars and 4-pane sashed windows, while No. 327 has a stone porch with Tuscan columns and top-hung casements that imitate 4-pane sashes. No. 333, to the right, has 2:1 windows similar to No. 327 and a recessed doorway with fluted Doric columns. The rear and interior of the buildings were not inspected.
