Description

This is a three-storey town house, built around 1780. It is now used as offices and two flats. The building is constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a grey slate roof. The front has a painted stone plinth, and two stone steps lead to a front door consisting of four fielded panels above two flush panels, with a radial-bar fanlight above in a pedimented doorcase. The first floor has two 12-pane sash windows, the second floor has two similar windows, and the third floor has two 9-pane sash windows. Painted stone sills and slightly-cambered gauged brick window-heads are present. There is a parapet cornice. Two brick chimneys are shared with the adjacent building at No.7 Stanley Place. The rainwater head and pipe are present, with the lower part of the pipe having been renewed. The rear of the building has been altered and extended. The interior of the first floor, now combined with No.7 Stanley Place, has had most of the original features removed from the principal rooms.
