Description

This is the west section of a three-bay town house, dating probably to the later 18th century, and now forming the northern part of a 20th-century office block facing Weaver Street. The front elevation to White Friars is the most significant remaining feature; the central and eastern bays of the original town house are now incorporated into No. 41. The building is constructed of brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a flat, 20th-century roof. There are three storeys, each with two windows. A painted stone plinth is visible, as are two recessed sash windows on each floor, from which the glazing bars have been removed. Painted stone sillbands are present on the first and second storeys, with painted stone sills on the third. The windows have wedge lintels with false keystones, and the parapet is finished with plain stone coping. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
