Description
Todd Fall Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings is a late 17th and early 18th century house with later alterations, accompanied by late 18th and early 19th century farmbuildings. The house is constructed of coursed rubble and has a replaced French-tiled roof, with rebuilt brick chimney stacks. The stable has a pantiled roof, and the right-hand addition has a concrete ridged tile roof.
The main house is two storeys high with two windows. It has a low plinth and roughly-shaped quoins on the right side. A central partly-glazed 6-panel door is set within an early 20th century glazed porch. Flanking the door are 8-pane horizontal-sliding sash windows. A replaced casement window is located above the door, within a 19th-century opening. The house has raised eaves. The roof features coped gables and end stacks, with a stepped external chimney on the right return.
To the left of the main house is a stable, forming an L-shape. It is two storeys high and has a stone stairway leading to a boarded door on the left, and a boarded door to the right, with a chamfered stone left jamb and a rebuilt brick right jamb. The stable has a steeply-pitched roof. Adjacent to this is a two-storey addition with flush quoins and a hit-and-miss window on the first floor. This addition’s roof has a raised right verge and a reverse-stepped gable. A stone stairway leads to a boarded door on the right return. A continuous single-storey rear outshut extends from the back of the house.
